Our campaign for At-Large DC Council is heating up and generating buzz in every corner of the District.

Now has come the time to get everyone together to hear firsthand why this race is so important and to jump start our field efforts as we move into the next phase of the campaign.

Please join me on Friday, January 27th for our first “Supporter Social.” This will be a great opportunity to meet myself, the campaign team and other friends and neighbors who are involved in the campaign.

Additionally, attendees will be able to contribute money, sign up to volunteer or pick up a yard sign.

Everyday it becomes more clear that our campaign has real grassroots support at every level. While our opponents are relying on questionable contributions from a few special interests or padding their reports by lending themselves money, the overwhelming majority of our financial supporters are District residents who believe we can do better than the Council we have right now.

Please join us on Friday Jan. 27th, so that you can learn more about the campaign and all the various ways to get involved.

Best,
Sekou

P.S. -
Our next fundraising deadline is rapidly approaching. Please visit www.sekoubiddle.org/donate (insert actual hyperlink] and help the campaign acquire the resources to take our campaign to the next level. Your contribution of $25, $50, or $100 is the most direct way of ensuring that the campaign has the ability to hire staff, open offices and communicate with voters across the city. Demand More Transparency and Trust in Government

Today I joined a group of concerned citizens, known as the DC Committee to Restore Public Trust, as they launched a campaign to ban corporate contributions to political campaigns in the District. Their efforts are focused on a ballot initiative that will bring DC up to the same level of transparency as federal elections rules and most other state and local governments. I fully support this campaign and urge you to as well. To read my full statement on why this initiative is necessary, visit www.sekoubiddle.org

Get Involved

The road to victory on April 3 involves reaching out to voters regularly about Sekou and his campaign. We need volunteers to help our outreach efforts throughout the District. Available volunteer tasks are diverse and we can use all talents from making phone calls, to delivering yard signs, to walking neighborhoods with Sekou or administrative work.
